The Tuesday Night Food and Run Club (aka “Torture Tuesdays” or “Tuesday Nighters”) is a non-profit running and eating club based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Our mission is to foster an inclusive community based on a shared passion for fitness and food.
Depending on our members’ goals, we typically offer 2-3 workouts per week that focus on natural running form, strength and endurance. Check out our training page for information on our upcoming workouts.
Whether sharing a meal at a member’s house or pigging out at a local joint, we love to eat! We are fortunate to have several incredibly talented chefs and bakers in our club, and many more who are happy to share their experiences on the Vancouver food circuit.
Past eating events include restaurant nights, sandwich crawls, potlucks, a soup exchange, the annual “epic brunch run”, themed food parties (e.g.: grilled cheese night, home made pizza night), and many more! We are always hungry, so bring your appetite!
…are fabulous. We are a diverse group of athletes and eaters ranging from age 13 to ‘older-than-I-care-to-admit.’ We include seasoned athletes training for Ironman races and/or other competitive events (e.g., Boston Marathon, ITU championships); non-competitive athletes who want to socialize and stay in shape; new athletes experiencing the joy and pain of running for the first time; and those who don’t run but show up in time to eat.
Events and other fun stuff:
We love adventures! In past, we have organized: teams for relay races (e.g., Ragnar relay, the Whistler 50); showshoe backpacking trips; hikes; Grey Cup parties; destination races; and community volunteering events. We encourage our members to take an active role in planning club events.
